Anglican Church Women / Christ Church Ladies:

The National Prayer of The Anglican Church Women of Canada

Almighty God, we pray for your blessing and grace on our work and witness as Anglican Church Women in Canada, and of The Pas.  We give you thanks and praise for giving us the wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that we may serve you in spirit and in truth.  Called to be your church, may our study, learning, worship and service be always to your glory and the building of your kingdom in our communities and throughout the world.  In our ministry may we always respond to the needs of others with your love.  We pray in the name of the One who redeemed and loves us, your Son, Jesus our Saviour.   Amen

Left-handed Blessings Prayer Shawl Ministry

     Who are we?

We began in the spring of 2011 at Christ Church, not just because the originators of the idea are left-handed, but because when we give a gift with the left hand, it is a gift from the heart.  Some of the shawls stay in this area: the rest travel all around the world, each on their own journey of caring and compassionate love.

As we work, we pray, as we pray, those prayers are woven into the shawls that are a product of our love.

It is through prayers that these shawls are empowered for Health, Hope, and Healing.

For centuries, people have been creating mantles of care with their knitting.  These mantles sustain us when life is hard, and remind us that God chooses to dwell with us.   It is a gift to be a knitter and a person knitting into the mystery of God.  At the same time, it is a gift that we give to those who need to feel the healing touch,  and the support of God in their lives, as well.

Our worship of God is not just gathering on Sundays, it extends to every aspect of our lives, including the making and distributing of prayer shawls.

Attached to each Shawl is Our Prayer: May this shawl be a peaceful place, where you can set aside your troubles and be swaddled in warm wishes, heartfelt blessings, and healing thoughts.  Amen.

Because of this, we accept the efforts of all who wish to create the shawls; we accept donations of wool; and we give thanks to the open hearts of those who see the need for shawls, and make an effort to supply that need.

Please Join us on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each Month from 1:00 to 3:00pm in Christ Church Parish Hall.  For more information, please
